Why Choose Modular Data Centers Over Traditional Builds?

When I was at Oracle, I saw the cracks forming.

Hyperscale campuses were too slow. Retail colocation was either sold out or located in the wrong places. Meanwhile, enterprise teams were under pressure—facing tighter timelines, rising rack densities, and workloads that couldn’t afford delay.

Racks became more powerful. More expensive. More central to business success. But the buildings we were putting them in? They hadn’t changed in decades.

That’s when I realized: the legacy model no longer works. Steel and concrete slow you down.

Why Steel and Concrete Hold You Back

  • ⚠️ Welded steel fails under stress—it's handmade, not factory-certified

  • 🏗️ Concrete is slow and costly—requiring heavy equipment and curing time

  • 🛠️ Both require specialized labor, long lead times, and expensive upkeep

  • 🕐 Worst of all: they delay your ability to deploy infrastructure

We needed something faster. More resilient. More sustainable. So we built it.

We didn’t choose composite materials because they’re novel—we chose them because they solve real problems:

  • 🌀 Withstand 250mph winds (F5 tornado / Cat 5 hurricane)

  • 🛡️ Offer ballistic protection starting at UL-1, scalable to UL-8 and .50 cal

  • ⚙️ Require no concrete, reducing installation time and cost

  • 💧 Resist rust, rot, and mold

  • ♻️ Are 100% recyclable and low carbon

  • 🏭 Manufactured with robotic, digital precision

  • 📦 Flat-packable, stackable, and man-portable

  • 📝 Designed for minimal permitting and fast deployment

  • 🪨 Use a unique pier foundation—no land grading required

Backed by Owens Corning’s world-class R&D, this system delivers rugged, repeatable infrastructure anywhere in the world.

Two Missions. One Platform.

We serve both enterprise and defense customers, but their missions are different. So, we built Synapse to meet both.

🏢 Enterprise: AI-Ready, Edge-Ready Infrastructure

Modern enterprises can’t afford to wait 24 months for land, power, or space. AI inference is latency-sensitive. Hybrid cloud requires modular, distributed deployments.

Synapse delivers:

  • ⚡ 1.2MW–4.8MW+ AI factories supporting liquid and air-cooled racks

  • 🧠 Rack-ready modules for SaaS, cloud-native, and GPU-based workloads

  • 🌍 Edge deployments where colo doesn’t exist or power is constrained

  • 🕒 6–8 month deployment timelines

  • 💸 O&M-as-a-Service keeps infrastructure off the balance sheet

  • 📉 $5M–$15M+ lifecycle savings per site vs. traditional builds

🛡️ Defense: Compute That Moves With the Mission

In the next fight, fixed infrastructure is a liability. The battlefield is contested, disconnected, and unpredictable. Compute and communications must be mobile, hardened, and secure.

Synapse is built for that:

  • 🔐 Modular SCIFs with 100dB RF attenuation, sound dampening, and HEMP/TEMPEST protection—all in a single panel system

  • 🛰️ Mobile C2 nodes, tactical edge compute, and AI inference at the point of need

  • 💥 Ballistic- and blast-rated shelters—designed to withstand drone and kinetic threats

  • 🌡️ Thermally neutral—zero IR signature

  • 🚫 Operates without backhaul—compute and comms remain local

  • 🔧 Reconfigurable mission modules—scalable, redeployable, and hardened on demand

These designs are briefed across the Department of Defense and are already in deployment pipelines.

Synapse is more than a shelter—it’s a platform for modular, digital infrastructure that scales with your mission.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

A modular infrastructure platform delivering deployable, composite-based facilities for data centers, AI factories, SCIFs, edge compute, and power systems.

How does it compare to traditional construction?

It’s faster, lighter, and cheaper across the lifecycle. Synapse avoids the delays and costs of steel and concrete—saving $5M–$15M+ per site with a 6–8 month deployment window.

Yes. Our SCIFs feature built-in 100dB RF attenuation, soundproofing, and HEMP/TEMPEST protection—all in one panelized design that supports rapid ICD 705 compliance.

Can it support high-density AI workloads?

Absolutely. Synapse supports 45kW+ racks and is optimized for Blackwell, Hopper, and other GPU architectures with liquid or air cooling.

Where can Synapse be deployed?

Anywhere. Our flat-pack, pier-based design enables remote deployment in rural, contested, or disconnected areas without land grading or concrete.

What are the power integration options?

Synapse supports utility grid, battery banks, UPS, hydrogen, diesel, generators, and microgrid systems. Synapse Shelter+ is designed to house these systems.

Are you affected by tariffs?

No. We manufacture using U.S.-sourced composite materials, avoiding tariff issues tied to imported steel and aluminum.

Do you offer O&M or subscription models?

Yes. We provide O&M-as-a-Service and other options to keep deployments off CapEx books and accelerate approval cycles.

Who do you partner with?

We work with top-tier GPU, telecom, server, power, and SaaS providers to deliver fully integrated turnkey solutions.

Build for the Mission. Build for the Market.

Whether you're deploying GPU clusters for enterprise AI or SCIFs for forward operations, the reality is the same:

  • You can’t wait. Not for land. Not for permits. Not for concrete.

  • You need infrastructure that keeps up with your mission.
